Writing a profile that works — for couples

6 min read · Updated 3 August 2026 · Adults only, 18+

Most couples' profiles fail in the first two lines, and almost always for the same three reasons. None of them are about attractiveness.

Write in two voices

The single strongest signal that a couple is genuinely a couple — rather than a husband operating alone — is that both people have written something in their own words. Experienced members look for this immediately, and its absence is the most common reason a profile is skipped.

It does not need to be long. Two short paragraphs, one each, obviously written by different people, changes how the profile reads entirely.

Say what you are looking for, specifically

"Open to whatever" reads as either inexperience or a lack of agreement between you. Specific is more attractive than available: couples only, soft swap, same room, conversation first, no rush.

Say what you are not looking for too. It prevents the conversations you do not want, which is most of them.

Photographs

You do not have to show faces, and on this platform most Desi couples do not. What matters more is that the pictures look like real people in real places rather than stock imagery, because stock imagery is the signature of a fake profile.

Check backgrounds before uploading — a framed photograph, a distinctive room, a view, a number plate. People are identified from backgrounds far more often than from faces.

Keep anything revealing in a private album you can unlock for individuals, rather than in a public gallery.

What to leave out

Anything identifying: employer, university, specific neighbourhood, or a username reused from another platform.

A list of demands. A profile that opens with rules for other people reads badly, however reasonable the rules are.

Anything suggesting one partner is being marketed by the other.

Common questions

Should we show our faces?

It is a personal decision and many members never do. Verification matters more for credibility than a visible face.

How much should we write?

Enough that someone can tell who you are — a few short paragraphs. Long essays are skipped as often as empty profiles.
