Delete your account and data
The fastest way: from your account
If you can still sign in, go to Settings → Delete Account. Deletion begins immediately and you have 30 days to change your mind by signing in again. After 30 days it is permanent and cannot be undone.
If you cannot sign in
Use the form below. We will email the address you give to confirm the request before anything is deleted — a request made from a public page is not proof that you own the account, and acting on it without confirming would be a way for anyone to delete someone else's.
What is deleted
- Your profile, photos, videos and albums
- Your email address, phone number and password
- Your location data and preferences
- Your messages, subject to the exception below
What is kept, and why
A small amount is retained because the law requires it, or because deleting it would destroy someone else's records:
- 18 U.S.C. § 2257 records, where you uploaded explicit content — retained for the statutory period in a separate system
- Reports and moderation decisions where you were the subject of a report — these are records of a safety process, not of you
- Material preserved under 18 U.S.C. § 2258A, if any, in connection with a report to NCMEC
- Messages already delivered to another member — their copy is theirs, as set out in our Terms
- Backups, until they age out in the ordinary cycle
Everything else is destroyed. See our Privacy Policy for the full retention position.
How long it takes
Deletion completes 30 days after the request, automatically. Requests made through this page take a little longer, because we email you first to confirm.
